Skills Needed When Wanting To Learn Hypnosis

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Influencing others can certainly put you to the next level. This is especially helpful for those who deal with other people in their jobs or businesses, and among these are salespeople, politicians, and teachers. A very important thing to remember is that even though you can master the steps involved in conversational hypnosis, if you are not skilled in the process, you will not be as effective as you would have hoped for.

There are only 3 basic skills, which although they may not necessarily be easy to do, with constant practice and repetition, it could become natural for you later on.

1. Rapport

You have to be able to establish trust from the people you are targeting to hypnotize. If you cannot get their trust, your efforts will be rendered useless. Along with trust, you also need to be ?agreeable? with the other person. For instance, if they do not like their job, then you should agree with them.

2. Confusion

The next skill you need to master is the art of confusing your ?subject? which basically means you either challenge them or you help them think out of the box. For example, you can say, ?Are you sure you don?t like your job, or you don?t like the people you work with?? or you can say ?If you communicate more openly with your boss and colleagues, do you think that would change the way you feel about your job??

When you confuse your subject, it will be harder for them to think the way they usually think, and influencing them becomes easier.

3. Suggestion

Another important skill is being able to indirectly make suggestions that would make their subconscious mind retain it and influence their thinking. For example, you can say ?You are thinking about quitting your job, aren?t you?? In this way, although you are not really telling them what to do, they unknowingly put these ideas in their head because of the suggestion you made.

So these are the 3 basic skills you will need to be good at if you want to become effective with conversational hypnosis. Again, the power of persuasion is a very handy tool which you can use to your advantage, at any given situation, whether for big things or even small things.

If you want to influence people, your best bet is through the use of this type of hypnosis.

Harnessing The Power Of Conversational Hypnosis

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

In your dealings in life you may have noticed how certain individuals have the ability to influence others easily. What you may not know is that they are using a special technique known as conversational hypnosis. By using this hypnosis technique, they can control a conversation in such a way that they lead a person along and manipulate their thought process. This is a powerful ability that some people just seem to have naturally.

Conversational hypnosis and covert hypnosis are usually used interchangebly by some. The reason for this is that the individual that is being led along is usually unaware that they are being hypnotized. In some cases, a person becomes aware that the individual they are speaking with is trying to direct them with covert techniques and thus becomes noneffective. If you can learn to master this technique, however, it can be used as a powerful tool for influencing others in both business and your personal life.

There are some basic steps that one needs to take if they are going to use conversational hypnosis. For starters we need to take into account that it is almost impossible to use this method on someone with which you have just met without warming them up a bit first. Warming someone up or building rapport is actually the first step in this process and helps you to build trust with the individual. Don’t be lead to believe that you have to know someone for months or years though. If you can connect with an individual mentally they will begin to develop trust on their own. This can be done in a number of different ways.

One of the easiest ways to develop a rapport with someone is to be understanding and agreeable with them. You can do this subtlety by letting them understand that you concur with every thing they are telling you. This has to be natural as to not raise any suspicions and blow your cover. A good example of this would be if the individual you are conversing with mentions that they do not like hybrid cars. Coming into anothers way of thinking can be done by agreeing with them that hybrid cars are not something you seek out either.

The second step of the conversational hypnosis process is where you actually begin to influence the individual you are speaking with. This can be done by either nudging them or gently guiding them in the direction you want them to go. If you have done step one effectively, the individual will be more apt to allow you to lead them in the direction that suits you. You may have noticed that people who are in sales have developed this technique because it is a very effective way of landing a sale from a cold lead. Once you master this technique for yourself, you will be surprised at how you can have people literally eating out of the palm of your hand.

How To Use Covert Hypnosis While Speaking With Someone

By: Rob Andrews

Have you ever met one of those smooth talking salesmen who can sell snowballs to Eskimos? Some people just seem able to convince others to do almost anything they want.

Ever wonder how some people can do it, and others can’t?

Conversational hypnosis is one way of influencing others by simply talking with them.

Never heard of conversational hypnosis?

Conversational hypnosis is not about placing people in deep trances, like a professional hypnotist would do in his office.

What it is about is using language that by-passes someone’s conscious brain and makes suggestions directly to the subconscious mind. Using the words of the conversation to directly communicate with the subconscious mind of the listener is conversational hypnosis.

One of the best at doing this is a guy called Robert Dilts. He calls this kind of language sleight of mouth. He says that language is really a map of our world, and that no two people live in the same world. (Deep, huh?)

What he is saying is that each individual sees the world in her own way, and she uses language to discuss her world and amazingly, even to form her world.

So basically, when you speak about something in a certain way, you actually cause yourself to think of it in that way. For example, if you habitually express that you hate going to school, you will reinforce that feeling and even strengthen it. You are creating that reality by simply talking about it.

So how is this connected with conversational hypnosis?

Similar to how you created the reality of hating school by merely talking about it, you will influence other people to hate school also by speaking to them in this way.

Now you know why attitudes indeed are contagious. Because the attitudes expressed in words direct the minds of the listeners to think the same way.

Remember how your parents used to freak out if they thought you had the wrong friends? Well, there maybe something to that. If you hang around friends who think a certain way, the words they use will carry those attitudes like a virus into your subconscious and literally start infecting you to think the same way. For good or for bad.

This is because words are powerful! One of the reasons words are so powerful is that the subconscious mind soaks them up like a sponge.

Your subconscious brain is very aware of what goes on around you. In fact, most of your thinking happens there. The subconscious mind can be influenced by what you and others say.

Using the right words can affect the way people see the world. What are the right words? Ahhhh, that’s the question. But you’ll need to wait until the next part of this article to find out. Or of course, you can visit my blog.
