Day To Day Activities Where YOU Can Use Conversational Hypnosis

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

A common misconception about hypnosis is that we would need a swinging pocket watch to put people in a trance. While that may have been practiced, it is old school hypnosis. Today, we do not need to use magic spells or incantations to put people in a trance. There is a better, more comfortable way of doing so by means of conversational hypnosis.

Anyone can learn conversational hypnosis. This will be very useful, and in fact, even considered a necessity by people who need to influence others? thinking, in a subtle and indirect manner.

It was psychotherapist, Milton Erickson, who firmly believed that people are often in a trance not just once, but several times daily. He said it is a natural occurrence, and when you mix it with confusion techniques and indirect suggestions, with the correct timing and rapport, it is actually possible to hypnotize people.

Conversational hypnosis involves 3 basic stages which start by building rapport with the person you want to hypnotize. Second, you should be able to throw a bit of confusion on the person so that he can be put off balance and not be able to think the way he normally does. Third, once your subject is distracted, this would be the perfect time to make ?suggestions.? In such a state, it is easier for the other person to agree with you or say yes to you.

Where can you take advantage of conversational hypnotism? In many places and for any reason you deem crucial. You can use it when you want to ask for a raise. You simply follow the 3 simple stages mentioned above and towards the suggestion part, you mention something like ?It might seem like a good idea to give me a raise after the success of our project this quarter.? You can also use it on your customer by saying ?The XYZ product does seem like better option as compared to ABC product.?

Remember that when you apply conversational hypnosis, the keyword is ?subtle.? You cannot be too direct otherwise it would simply ruin the whole thing, and the outcome will not be as effective as you had hoped. Also, while it does have a high success rate, it will not always work for everyone, especially if you are still new to it. Keep practicing this technique, until you become skilled at it.

Conversational hypnosis can be learned by listening to simple hypnosis audios teachings with an instruction manual. There are various conversational hypnosis online courses that teaches this powerful skill. By learning the covert techniques of influence and persuasion, you will find use for them in almost all everyday situations. The Answers To Your Concerns About Conversational Hypnosis

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Surely, you have already heard of conversational hypnosis. You are most likely interested about it which is precisely the reason why you are reading this article. However, like most things, you may have some apprehensions in regards to learning and applying this skill.

We are going to address your concerns and hopefully, we can ease up your worries, eventually.

There are obviously a lot of myths and misconceptions about conversational hypnosis. It is important that you can distinguish what is real and what isn?t so that you can be confident when it comes to deciding whether you should use it or not.

1. Is our ?subject? actually being hypnotized?

In the real sense of the word, the answer is NO. Milton Erickson, the man behind conversational hypnosis, believes that human beings are often, perhaps unknowingly, put in and out of a trance, as if it is a natural thing to happen to us. Therefore, conversational hypnosis is not about using a spin top or a pocket watch to put people in a trance; this technique is simply about mind conditioning, distraction, and confusion.

2. Since we basically manipulate our ?subject,? is this practice considered unethical?

While it is true that we sort of manipulate our subject, it is still considered an ethical practice. Take note that any form of conversation does include a manipulation of sorts, such as when you laugh, charm, and even seduce someone. This is basically a normal thing that all of us are guilty of. Being aware, being charismatic, and persuasive is not wrong per se, it is where and to whom you use it that can actually say if you are being ethical or not.

3. Does it work?

Of course! If it does not, then why is it so popular? There are many, many people who use conversational hypnosis for various reasons. Conversational hypnosis is among the most effective means of getting want you want, or controlling a desired outcome, even if you are a very shy person. You can become as persuasive as you want, depending on how well you can do conversational hypnosis.

In a nutshell, this kind of hypnosis technique certainly holds a very important place when it comes to being able to use to power of persuasion on others. Yes it does work, and yes you can most definitely use it to help you overcome your limitations and become a master when it comes to persuasion and influence.

The Study of Hypnosis Techniques

by David Aldor

Getting a good start into this topic will be a good way to make further progress.

Many people have heard of it, but only a few have really experienced and gone into the depth of it. Hypnosis is a subject that has grabbed the attention of a number of people and maybe for that reason, it seems like everyone has some opinion about it.

Whatever said and done, the proven fact is that after going through many hypnotic sessions individuals suffering from a wide range of habits, phobias etc have been able to overcome these situations all thanks to hypnosis and what it does to the mind and body. Being hypnotized isn’t about you being put to sleep.

The truth is; hypnosis is an intermediary state of mind between sleep and being awake. So you are not fully asleep even though you’ll look like it. You will still be aware of the words being spoken to you.

Hypnotists use different hypnosis techniques on their patients. It can depend on the individual. But, over all, we can state a few techniques that will include attention, relaxation, the subconscious mind, the unconscious mind and suggestions.

Why do you think hypnotists use a pocket watch or a pendant when they start their session? I’m sure you have seen enough of such instances in movies. The reason behind this is because it makes the patient or the individual focus his attention on an object. This is where the hypnotists will sometimes ask the patient to close their eyes and listen to what he or she says.

During this session, the person will start to relax since it is the most important thing when it comes to all hypnosis techniques. The hypnotists or the therapist will help the patient achieve the highest level of relaxation by uttering words that will soothe and calm his mind. Once the therapist identifies that the patient’s body is fully relaxed, he will move on to the next level, which is much deeper and interesting.

Getting into the subconscious mind is easier than the unconscious mind.

This can be done by visualizing something. For instance, the person could imagine himself entering a castle like house with different rooms. But if you are to go in depth to the unconscious mind, then the help of a hypnotist or an experienced therapist should be sought. Once the person is in a hypnotic trance, suggestions can be expressed.

You may have experienced getting into your subconscious mind during the times you day dream or while being half asleep. One moment you could be in your country, and the next second you’d be in another country; it’s just a matter of visualizing. But if you are to go in depth to the unconscious mind, then the help of a hypnotist or an experienced therapist should be sought. Once the person is in a hypnotic trance, suggestions can be expressed.

Any expert would suggest trustworthy hypnosis techniques as the whole process of achieving the desired results depends on that. When all this is done, the person can go back to reality. This is done, slowly and efficiently, as the person has to move back from the unconscious mind into the conscious mind.

Experts in this field usually suggest that individuals will be benefited by using trustworthy hypnosis techniques instead of using fake methods and falling into trouble.

These articles can be very inspiring, hope the information was useful. Thanks a lot for reading.

Hypnotize Anyone Secretly And Get Them To Do What You Want

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

by Arthur Xavier King

Would you like to be able to hypnotize anyone whenever you wanted? Do you think it’s possible to hypnotize anyone and have them change their behavior without them even realizing it? The truth of the matter is that this is not only possible but it’s probably a lot easier than you think. And forget about it looking like traditional hypnosis. There’s no lying down on the couch, no staring at the pocket watch and no counting backwards from 10.

Would you believe it if I told you that this practice of hypnotizing people ’secretly’ or happens all of the time? Now, before you think that there’s no possible  way to hypnotize anyone with out the person knowing it,let me clarify what I mean by  ‘hypnotize.’ I’m not talking about sitting or laying down in a dimly lit room  listening to a soft soothing voice as you drift into a state of total relaxation.

The secret, however, is to be able to do this just by talking to someone while using the same language patterns that work in traditional hypnosis. And this can happen in regular conversations as well as using the written word when communicating with someone. Skeptical?  I don’t blame you. But what if I told you that we are influenced by words all of the time, and that many of these words that are ‘hypnotizing ‘ us are happening right under our noses without us even knowing it!

Is it possible to influence the subconscious mind without the conscious mind knowing it? In an experiment developed by psychologist John Bargh a group of subjects were asked to make a four word sentence out of five words as quickly as they could. Try this yourself:

1. throw John gray the ball

2. from are oranges Florida sweet

3.fruit wrinkled raisin is a

Does this seem like a pretty easy exercise? Well, the subjects that completed it thought so too. What they didn’t realize was that the researchers were measuring something completely different. What they found was that the subjects that completed this exercise actually walked out of the testing room and down the hallway slower than when they walked in.

Now consciously the subjects probably didn’t even pay attention to these words, but subconsciously these words had a huge impact on the way the subjects behaved. They basically put the subjects into a state of feeling old and the subjects responded by acting this out through their slow walk out of the office. (For an  excellent resource on how the subconscious is easliy influenced on a day to day basis, check out Malcolm Gladwell’s book Blink).

The point is, these subjects had no idea that they were acting any differently than they would normally act, and yet they didn’t even realize that they had changed their behavior. They thought that they were just making sentences out of a bunch of random words, when in reality they were being influenced in a way that they weren’t even aware of. Such is the power of activating the subconscious mind.

Now, you might be asking yourself, can you really influence someone subconsciously just by talking to them? And the answer is- absolutely-if you know what you’re doing. The father of modern psychological hypnosis, Dr. Milton Erickson, had mastered the traditional techniques of hypnosis to the point where he could easily hypnotize anyone simply by talking to them. He was a master story teller who could, through the use of stories or metaphors, implant subconscious suggestions or commands.

Chances are you already know and use the words that you would use to start to hypnotize someone subconsciously. How can I know this about you? Well, have you ever used the words “gray, old, wrinkled, Florida” as in the example above? Of course you have! It’s not about learning new words or ‘hypnotic words’; it’s about using the words that you already know in such a way as to engage the conscious mind so that you can deliver a particular hypnotic suggestion or command to the subconscious mind. Once you master this skill then it is only a question of practice until you can hypnotize anyone just  by talking to them.
